SPG Blocks

A Sphenopalatine Ganglion Block (SPG) is the injection or inhalation of a numbing agent to instantly relieve head and facial pain. SPG blocks can also give immediate relief of some symptoms caused by TMD, such as limited range of motion. At the TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre of North Texas, our method is the least invasive, as we only administer SPG by inhalation thru the nose.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser Therapy is our non-invasive go-to for the reduction of pain and inflammation. This simple treatment accelerates the healing process and offers so many benefits! Improved immune response, increased circulation, and accelerated metabolic activity are just a few of the perks of this pain-free therapy.

Trigger Point Injections

Trigger points develop when muscles are constantly or continuously over-stimulated, often causing generalized pain to the area. A trigger point injection, using a temporary numbing agent, provides numbness that lasts for a few hours and relives pain almost instantly. Therapeutic pain relief can last months!

Other Modalities

Other immediate relief tactics, such as nutritional counseling, the inhalation of Oxygen or Nitrous Oxide, multi-discipline referral coordination, the application of cold and heat packs, or the use of muscle relaxant drug prescriptions are offered at TMJ and Sleep Therapy Centre to aide in our patient’s success.
